SHIPPING

Orders are processed within 3 business days. However, we work very hard to process orders as quickly as possible.

Orders are shipped from our warehouse located in New Jersey  and arrive within 2–7 business days, depending on which shipping method was selected.

Please note that we do not ship on Sundays, or U.S. nationally observed holidays.

Once shipped, you will receive a confirmation email including your tracking number.

Orders are shipped via UPS or through the U.S. Postal Service to home addresses, business addresses, and P.O. Boxes.

Unfortunately it is not possible to modify any details of your order after it has been placed. The shipping and payment methods, the number of creations and the delivery address cannot be changed. We can, however, cancel an order at any point before it ships out, where you will then be able to place a new order for the correct item.

INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING

Absolutely! If you need your goods shipped to a destination outside of the United States, international shipping costs will automatically populate at checkout based on the weight, volume, and destination of your order.

Note that there are restrictions on some items, and some items cannot be shipped to international destinations due to weight and size restriction.

When you place an order, we will estimate shipping and delivery dates for you based on the availability of your items and the shipping options you choose. Depending on the shipping provider you choose, shipping date estimates may appear on the shipping quotes page.

Unfortunately, we have no way of knowing if international orders will be charged customs fees. We are not personally involved with international customs and do not collect any fees. OboraLux is not responsible for paying any import duties or customs fees for international shipments.

RETURNS & EXCHANGES

We want you to be happy. If you are not completely satisfied with your OL purchase, you can send it back for an exchange or refund.  

You have 14 days after delivery to initiate an exchange or return. 

Merchandise may be returned for store credit for up to 30 days after the delivery date.

Items must be returned in their original condition (new, unworn, or unused). 

We do not cover the return shipping cost, but exchanges will be shipped out at no additional cost.

Simply log-in to our RETURN CENTER and enter the email address associated with your order to receive your prepaid return label. Once you receive your label, you can drop off your package at designated shipping provider's location.

Returns time may vary, depending on your shipment selection. Once your return is received, we will contact you by email to let you know the status of your refund.

If you select exchange, your new item(s) will be shipped out at no additional cost

If you select return, your refund will be credited to the original method of payment, less the return shipping fee.

Please note: OL is not liable or responsible for loss or damage incurred by the carrier or upon delivery. We are unable to offer refunds or replacements for lost packages – inquiries about compensation for lost, stolen, or damaged packages should be directed to your selected postal carrier. We apologize for any inconvenience.

OL will gladly accept international returns following the same policies above.

Once confirmed, your refund will be credited to the original method of payment, less the cost of return shipping. 

OL is not responsible for paying any import duties or customs fees for international shipments.

FINAL SALE purchases cannot be returned or exchanged.

Sale items can be returned for STORE CREDIT only.

Received something that’s not quite your style? Return it, and once the returned item is received, a gift certificate will be emailed to you. 

Simply log-in to our RETURN CENTER and enter the email address associated with your order to receive your prepaid return label. 

Once we have received your return, we will process your refund or exchange within 5 business days.

Refunds will be issued in the original form of payment. Depending on method of payment, it may take up to 3 weeks to see the credit.

International shipping costs are non-refundable.

If the item was a gift, we will issue store credit for the return in the form of a gift card

CREATIONS

The founders of OboraLux love to travel off the beaten path. It’s through their travels that the greatest relationships have been made. At OboraLux, we purchase the majority of our creations directly from the artisan, making sure that we pay fair prices and build relationships to make sure that we are making a positive impact. We also source through partner organizations and nonprofits that align with our mission and sourcing ethics.

The horn we use comes from Ugandan Ankole cows, which are used as a food source by the local community and villages. The horn is a byproduct of the agricultural system and is sold to artisans and others in the community who use it to create jewelry and various items. The animals are not harmed in order to obtain their horn, not even secondarily - it is a discarded item, albeit one of value to some. The horn is considered a sustainable product in the sense that livestock farming in a pasture-based system is a sustainable practice.

Given the handmade nature of our pieces, please reference each individual creation page for care instructions.

With each purchase, we provide an information card with details about the origin, artisan and creation information, so that you can trace the item right back to its maker. We are also conscious of our environmental impact. When possible we use packaging that is recyclable, biodegradable and/or made from post­-consumer recycled material.

Due to the unique nature of our handmade creations, imperfections and natural variations are commonplace. There is a small chance you receive a piece slightly different than you expect or see in the sample pictures (bead size, color, length, etc.). We hold our handmade creations in the most high esteem and we hope that you enjoy these variations as much as we do.

All of our creations are handcrafted, and variations in color, pattern, and size should be expected. We are very careful when packaging your purchases, but sometimes an item may be damaged during transit. If you receive a damaged creation, please email us immediately at sales@oboralux.com and be sure to include a photo of the damaged item so we can address the issue with our shipper. We will either replace the item, issue a refund or, in the case of a gift, issue a gift card. Given the limited quantities and one-of-a-kind items that we offer, we may not be able to replace the exact item.

Currently, OboraLux does not have a physical store location; we are an e-commerce shop only. However, a few times a year we hold pop-up events in the NYC area. Follow us on social media or subscribe to our E-Newsletter to keep updated about exciting in-person shopping opportunities!

For orders shipped to within the state of New Jersey, we collect sales tax. Taxes are automatically added at checkout. We don’t apply taxes to orders outside of New Jersey.

Fair trade is a social movement whose stated goal is to help producers in developing countries achieve better trading conditions and to promote sustainable farming. Fair Trade products can be either foods or crafts that are produced under standards designed to end and prevent the poverty, sweatshop labor conditions, environmental degradation, etc. that puts profits above people and the planet.

At OboraLux uphold the 10 Principles of Fair Trade endorsed by the World Fair Trade Organization in all of our partnerships with suppliers.

We abide by the basic fair trade principles to ensure that we support efforts that provide workers and artists with fair wages. It is only by receiving a fair wage that the heads of households can provide for the many needs of themselves and their family members including food, shelter, health care, and education.
